Tip: Position your wreath so the center sits at eye level, approximately 60 inches from the ground. For double doors, use two identical wreaths centered on each panel for visual balance and symmetry.
Tip: Leave at least 4-6 inches of clearance between the wreath edge and the door frame. A wreath covering 55-65% of the door width creates the most balanced and proportional look.

Choosing the right wreath size is more important than many believe. For a nice look consider the width of the door and the planned place before deciding about the size

Standard entry doors measure around 36 inches wide. Wreaths between 22 and 26 inches work well and give a balanced look. For a door of standard size the ideal diameter is 22 to 24 inches.

How to Choose the Right Wreath Size

Leave at least some inches of space at both sides, so that you can easliy open and close it.

Here is practical advice. Measure the diameter of the entry door and subtract 12 inches. For the most attractive look leave 6 inches between the outer edge of the wreath and the sides of the gateway.

Sizes of wreaths are shown by diameter. A wreath of 20 inches measures across the whole width of the outer flower-edge. But mind that, the ring-diameter is the basic measure when buying.

A wreath with a 16-inch ring reaches a total diameter of 24 to 28 inches. The greens and bits extend outside the frame and complete the whole size. For instance a 36-inch wreath has a ring of 25 to 30 inches, but after fluffing the greens fill it until almost 33 inches.

Medium wreaths on a 14-inch grapevine base can reach 20 inches with the greens. Standard wreath sizes range from 24 to 36 inches and work best for doors or big windows.

A 36-inch wreath fits with the width of a standard door. At a rarely used entry for a strong impact it covers the whole width. If the door commonly opens, choose a bit less big.

For windows cut from craft paper a mock-up to check the look. Same size wreaths across different floors avoid a weird sight, big below and little up could seem off.

Wreaths come also in more than round forms. Artificial wreaths add style and depth to any place. An autumn 23½-inch wreath works well hung inside or outside, or even on a diningtable.

They simply but effectively add charm to a home and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
