Measure deduction areas separately. A tub, fixed wardrobe plinth, shower niche, or wall opening should be subtracted before percentage waste is added.
Separate cut waste from kept spare. Cut waste covers layout loss; kept spare tiles are clean extras for future repairs and should be counted after the cut waste estimate.
Large tiles punish narrow strips. If a room dimension leaves slivers along a wall, increase complexity or shift the layout centerline before finalizing the tile count.
Round to whole pieces. The calculator rounds up tile count after all waste and spare allowances so a partial tile is never treated as a usable full tile.
