Door logic: A typical wall-painting doorway uses two vertical jambs plus the top edge. The calculator also removes door width from the baseboard tape line when base masking is included.
Strip passes: Use two strips per edge when protecting both sides of a narrow trim line, masking twice for separate coats, or replacing tape between primer and paint.
Overlap allowance: Short tape pieces around trim, shelves, windows, and casing create more joins. Raise overlap before raising waste when the edge length is accurate but fragmented.
Roll rounding: Roll count always rounds up to a whole roll. The spare result shows unused tape after the calculated total, overlap, and waste are covered.

All tape length math is based on linear edge measurements. The calculator does not estimate tape width coverage or adhesive performance.
