Alternatively, you can use a large floor vase for flowering plants with long branch that occupy a large room. It is also important to ensure that the vase is below eye level when placed on a dining table, as it should not obstruct others view of the table.
The shape of the vase will dictate how the flowers behave within the vase. For example, a vase in the shape of a cylinder is common and suitable for various type of floral arrangements. However, a flared vase is suitable for floral design that require the blooms to extend outward in various direction.
The diameter of the opening of the vase is also important; a narrow vase opening is suitable for inserting a single rose or a few tulip into the vase. In contrast, a wide vase opening is not suitable for inserting only a single stem of flowers, as the single stem will fall to one side of the vase opening. When grouping several vases together, it is best to use an odd number of vases.
For example, three or five vases are better than two or four vase of the same size and floral arrangement. Vases can either be clustered together in a group or spread out evenly along a shelf. Support can be used for the stems of flowers.
For complex floral arrangement, you can use floral foam to provide support for the stems as it lock each stem in place. For clear glass vases, marbles and small pebble can also be used for support.
